Built in 1860, the Royal Opera House has been one of the most important landmarks in Valletta. This building has suffered several damages. The first time in 1873 due to a fire but was entirely restored to its original design.
Unfortunately, the Old Theatre was destroyed once again during World War 2. It took more than 60 years for this magnificent building to be given a third chance.
Today, this prestigious site along with other historical landmarks in Valletta is being beautifully restored and given a new well deserved image. Makaw Limited has carried out various works within this theatre, ranging from interior finishes of the backstage areas to acoustic wooden panelling within the main theatre.
